triceps cross over

For the Triceps Cross Over, Stand or sit up straight with your arms as your side. Next, cross one arm over your chest and use the other arm to wrap around it and pull it close to your body. Keep the arm that is crossed over at about shoulder height right below your chin. Use the picture as a diagram for this position. To enhance the stretch, pull the arm tight into your body so that the scapula is being displaced closer to the front of the body. Hold this position for the elapsed time and then switch to the other side.
This stretch focuses on the extensor muscles of the arms and shoulders. Most of the stretch is felt in the triceps muscle but with adequate pull, a stretch can be felt in the deltoid and the intricate muscles in the back that hold the scapula close to the spine.
