pectoral wall stretch

Picture
For the Pectoral Wall Stretch, find a wall or sturdy structure that you can use in the stretch. Next, place your hand at shoulder height with your fingers faced horizontally against the wall. To perform the stretch, twist your body away from the wall so that your arm is slowly being stretched behind you. Make sure your torso and body stays upright throughout the stretch to ensure the muscles are being extended correctly. Hold this position for the elapsed time and switch to the other side.

This stretch focuses on the pectoral muscles. When these muscles are tight they can pull your shoulders forward, which throws your entire posture off. Bad posture can lead to neck and back problems among many other issues. This stretch helps open the chest up so your shoulders can sit comfortably in their correct position.
